Armida Siguion-Reyna died at the age of 88.
Veteran actress Armida Siguion-Reyna passed away today, February 11 after battling with cancer. She was 88 years old.
Her sister Irma Potenciano confirmed with ABS-CBN News that Armida was admitted at the Makati Medical Center, where she passed away.
Aside from being an actress, Armida was popularly known for her show Aawitan Kita, the longest-running musical show on television which promoted Filipino songs and kundimans. She also established Reyna Films, which produced lauded movies such as Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit, Ligaya ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin and Ang Lalaki sa Buhay ni Selya.
Just last year, her grandson actor Rafa Siguion-Reyna shared that she had Alzheimer’s disease.
“Health-wise ang lakas niya kahit meron siyang Alzheimer’s. Wala siyang diabetes, wala siyang heart problem, walang siyang digestion problem,” he stated.
